The Apple Watch is the company's most recent offering. Apple is a retail behemoth in the electronics industry and a master at selling tech items. It was advertised as a must-have wearable for millennials and all Apple fans, but is it truly a technological marvel that elevates the user experience for Internet-enabled wearables or is it merely a passing trend?

To begin with, it is not a watch replacement.

The Apple Watch is frequently assumed to be a direct replacement for conventional watches with enhanced features.

 Can it ever, though, completely replace the conventional watch due to factors like dependability?
Robert-Jan Broer stated the following in an essay, and I believe it nicely encapsulates the Apple Watch's primary utility.

Comparing the Apple Watch to the iPhone, its features are likewise incredibly limited. I had the opportunity to test Chinese wrist phones back in 2007, when the technology was just getting started. I thought the gadgets I tested had a lot more to offer, despite not having the same slick appearance as the Apple Watch. They had the same functionality as a typical cell phone, including a 2MP camera and the ability to make calls without the need for a data connection to another device. 

What prevented Apple from integrating those features into the Apple Watch?

 Unfortunately for those of us who care more about a device's actual functioning, I think it all came down to style over substance to appeal to their target group.

The Apple Watch is actually an upsell item for your other Apple devices as it is right now. neither more nor less. Apple was forced to adopt the concept of wearable technology as it was no longer novel. Purely from a business standpoint, Apple would have lost out on a sizable portion of the wearable technology industry if they hadn't made this move.

More data, more data, and more data.
In the modern world, we are surrounded by gadgets that are all gathering highly personal data about us. An illustration of this is the Apple Watch, which collects data about your lifestyle, including when you eat, sleep, run, and even when you need to use the loo, through their healthcare app.

Consumers don't give this information much thought, but Apple can learn from it, which tremendously helps the company's growth and influence in the IT sector. They leverage the data they gather about their user base, in particular, to create highly focused advertising campaigns that are directed directly at you, boosting sales and building brand recognition.

Could the Apple Watch only be this? 

a piece of jewellery that does little other than to complete your appearance? The effectiveness of Apple's marketing efforts and the sheer volume of fans waiting in queue for every new device, regardless of the product, can significantly influence how the general public perceives the quality of their products. So, is it a must-have fashion accessory or a must-have technical gadget?

Why do people purchase it, then?
When it comes to product marketing and attractive product design, Apple is just at the top of their game. In their opinion, Apple is not innovative because they frequently consider how they may improve upon what is currently available. Let's look at the iPad as an illustration. Was the tablet Apple proudly announced as the world's first when it was originally unveiled really the first? Before Apple even began to consider the iPad, Microsoft had previously introduced a tablet PC. The only distinction is that Microsoft lacked Apple's marketing and design teams, which could have helped the gadget generate as much attention.
